a sudden spike of fever,
some astounding confusion,
extreme exhaustion
and it's back
to the ER

this time though
her arrival spurred a flurry of frantic activity
the likes of which we haven't experienced
on her prior visits

it was a mad rush
to determine where the infection was
we are still not certain
but clearly it is no longer felt to be
life threatening

they've admitted her,
to do more tests
and establish which antibiotic she needs
