a damp night
Last Night I Went To Open Mic Night
every so often, my school's poetry club hosts an open mic poetry/music night. there was a time where i used to be the mc for these events, but i havent as of recently.
that picture up there was taken from the passenger's seat of a truck as i was on my way to last nights open mic night.
it was definately a sexy time. there was many a super poet/musician. for me the highlights were definately jordan's performance of the jeff buckley version of hallelujah and poetry reading by pilgrim.
after all that was over, some kids and i took a run to friendly's and ended up squeezing all seven of us in a small friendly's booth. we made friends with the kids in the booth behind us and narrowly avoided getting assaulted by some large men with spit balls (i gave 'em the pattented "ehrik verge evil eye," scaring them into deciding against firing upon us, and thus saving the day).
after the night ended, beck-a drove me the full one-hundred miles (approimately) back to my house. we had a nice heart-to-heart talk.
i think tomorrow im going to dig out my pentax camera and head down to portland to take some pictures. ive always been happy with the photos ive taken with that camera plus im sick of all this "auto-focus" crap.
