Modern Poems for Modern Youth.
A black and white photo of a book and some papers on a rickety little table in the main cabin, at my mother-in-law's island on Georgian Bay. That was taken a year or two ago, maybe longer.
The main cabin was built over a few weeks in July 1920, with a large stone fireplace and wide verandas. Since then the island has devolved to my wife`s well-to-do older sister. The old main cabin has been gutted and rebuilt, and no doubt all of the old books and tchotchkes, the old black construction paper silhouettes, the dusty ancient bearskin, birchbark canoe in the rafters, Navaho rugs and Indian baskets most of the old hurricane lamps have been moved out to make way for new stuff.
