right in front of the CBD in Cairns is a public swimming pool. Early in the morning (6:30am) it can be quite deserted..... by midday all the backpackers and tourists tend to fill all the pool and surrounding grass areas. So early morning is definitely the best time to visit.... especially as the fliters have been running all night.
