i have tried
(to paint from my photos)
and i think it''s a good exercise
but it never really works...
my painting process is more about discovery, where the paint leads me, what it shows me.
to know where it will end up kind of short circuits that
pollack was once asked if he knew what a painting would look like when it was done and he replied(and i paraphrase) :
"how could i, it doesn't exist yet"
but
over the past year i have sensed a stronger connection between the photos and the paintings and this pleases me.
i think the photos have helped me to understand what is important to me visually.
