Well it has been a long while since I've made a written addition to my fotola. Those following the pictorial record of my adventures will see that I have been out and about over the last few months, but apart from that won't know a great deal! So a quick re-cap. After Montreal I was pretty much ensconced in work throughout August. I had planned to go to India but that idea had to be shelved due to work (and financial) commitments! So my first break away from it all didn't come until September when it basically forced itself upon me! After having to cancel my subsequent holiday plans due to work I decided that a week of solitude and recuperation was in order. On the Thursday I booked my hotel and flight, on the Monday I was jetting my way to Taba Heights, Egypt. A week by the Red Sea was exactly what the doctor ordered. After 7 days of diving, snorkeling, reading, swimming, eating, sunbathing and sleeping I felt almost human again! It truly is an incredible place. Surrounded by sheer cliffs rising out of the desert, the resorts are basically isolated. There is nothing to do except relax. As you'll see from the photos the water was absolutely incredible. Perfectly clear and serene. When I was diving I felt like I was swimming in an aquarium. It was incredible. Definitely a return trip for my PADI license at some point! Aside from trips to London, Brighton and Cambridge my most recent sejour was to Chicago for the requisite core analyst training (a.k.a chipping) for Accenture. The course itself was well... as to be expected... but Chicago was fantastic. I had the opportunity to spend two weekends there, accompanied by my lovely friend Tamara and had an absolutely fantastic time! Among other things we went for a boat ride on Lake Michigan, wandered around Millennium Park, went out for some fantastic meals and shopped! A very beautiful city and a great way to spend a few days. And in a nutshell that's about it (well in terms of explaining my photos). Of course daily life ticks on merrily, and things are going well. I have a few more things planned in the near future including a weekend in Budapest, skiing in Switzerland, a wedding in Australia and a quick tour of Japan. So expect plenty more photos in the near future! Until then... A bientot! |
