this is benidorm..............

i have always said that it is a fantasy......

it is said to rank second one in the worldwide list of cities with the largest number of skyscrapers per person.................the first one is obviously new york city...................i have always liked to believe this is true................

it used to be a really little fishing village in the 60s, but then, auspiced by the last breaths of franco's fascist regime, it was forced to boom in an attempt to make spanish tourist spots popular in europe............and god, they did manage to be successful...........it has been growing and growing non-stop since then...................

benidorm is protected by a lovely huge bay and surrounded by high mountains, both of which create what locals call 'benidorm's greenhouse effect'.........they enjoy constant temperatures of around 25ºC all year long and bright sunny days................it (almost) never rains............

the city is crowded with herds of drunk british tourists, tanorexic senior cities, a populous gay crowd and many many many random tourists...........still i love this unique and curious melting pot............

i used to visit it on a regular basis when i was younger as it is not far from murcia, the city where i used to live back then..................

i had not been there for quite a few years till last october, when i drove all the way up there with my friend isa and two of her best friends..............

we spent there the whole weekend.............i will dedicate the next few weekends to posting stuff about benidorm..............
