alcoi’s cemetery is so unusual.............. it has some subterranean catacombs that consist of two long corridors displayed in the shape of a cross with niches on either side...........they are naturally lit through skylights.......they are kind of airy and you do not feel oppressed at all.................some of the niches are as old as 150 years since they belong in the 19th century...................
this kind of niches -and the ones in the open air- are for full coffins............imagine how difficult it is to place a coffin inside the niches situated at the upper lines...............
