christmas eve dinner

it was ten years since we last celebrated christmas eve dinner at home............
that is the age of little javi, my borther javi's son.............
once he was born, mum decided there were too many kids in the family for family get-togethers and that no more celbrations were welcomed at home.................
that is the way she is............or she was............because her memory loss issues have sweetened her up..............well what she can be sweetened............
this year i was determined to celebrate a christmas eve dinner because the kids, juanjo and maria, are staying with us this week...............
of course, mum refused to have a seat at the table with us.............instead she had dinner so early that at 8 pm she was already in bed.................
after this, dad did not feel comfortable enough to sit at the table with us either, so he decided to just have a hot chocolate for dinner....................
fortunately, the kids were not aware of such a tense situation..............
anyways, my sist and i stuck to our plan and celebrated our christmas eve dinner with the kids...............
we just cooked garlic prawns............also tuna and egg pies (not on the table because little maria ate them all before dinnertime..............!!!)...........and mussel pate........and roasted red pepper spread................
the rest of food on the table are some of our favourites when feasting............iberian cured ham, an assortment of spanish cheeses (i also bought a piece of cheddar), assorted cold meats, duck foie-gras micuit, and sweet ham stuffed with candied egg yolk.........................
juanjo chose to have a 99% beef burger.........................
