there is nothing new in the world (the basic number of plots in literature range from 7 -37 depending on who you talk to), so of course there are many myths/stories/archetypes that my current state corresponds to. off the top of my head i can think of: pandora's box, expulsion from the garden of eden and blue beard.

all reflect on the irreversibility and the dangers of knowledge. sometimes you just don't need to know what's behind that door, but once you do there is no turning back.
