it is a time for rebirth when the sun begins to flood my studio in the morning. i just love to be there with it streaming in, it doesn't even matter that it is patchy, contrasty and glarey.
i wait for this to happen every year because it never fails to make me feel better. it motivates me to get out of bed and to get to work. it makes for a natural time of new beginnings and fresh starts. it exposes everything that has been hiding in the dark corners of winter. it is another new year, a more organic one for me.
and out my window right now is a skinny sliver of a crescent moon that looks like someone just stuck it up in the sky, it's the moon in my tattoo. and it is a new beginning too.
