broccoli rabe: not what i normally think of as comfort food (macaroni & cheese, pastina, creamed spinach) but tonite it was. it's something i only started eating after my father died, it was one of his favorite foods and i think aquiring a taste for it made me feel closer to him, as if he was still able to pass things on to me.

if he were alive, the tonite's meal would definitely be something i would make for him, that comforts me.
