grlz nite out
5/2
when my friend lisa suggested we go see this show, i thought fine, patti smith has been a long time fav, but the last time i had seen her...
what happened last night was undeniable.
the power and truth embodied in this woman are amazing.
and being in that room,
listening,
watching,
dancing,
made me feel really good to be alive
and really good to be a woman
and really good to be an artist
and really good to be "of a certain age"
what a total inspiration.
there was a history to draw on and a promise of the future.
the energy was overwhelming,
the new material is vibrant,
there was love, politics, memories and grief
and her ability to rock...
well,
she's patti.
