"i've fallen & i can't get up"

no longer a joke
on many levels i suppose

i forced one of these devices on my mom
since it is too scary to think of her alone without any way of getting help if she does fall or finds herself in any situation where she is physically unable to cope.

the irony is that she has always vehemently hated advertising that preys on people's fears
but in hindsight i must say that it was/is a pretty effective campaign.

and of course
the irony is that this describes a mental state as well,
a familiar one.
and today i fell
again
and the irony is
there is no help button
no matter how hard i try to put that in place
tho
in a moment of clarity
i stopped fighting it
and read a book
a whole book
i don't know when the last time i did that was
that's probably part of the problem
