this is one of a very few pictures i took
of the artwork that makes up the biennial
and the only one inside

this little painted tree trunk section
was nestled into the upholstery
of a piece of artist made furniture
a little love seat

i am getting tired of taking pictures in museums,
at events,
of the spectacular
that is someone else's expression

it's become such a rote response to the world:
snap a picture
but it has been my response since i was about 15
and that's a very long time...
