when I was growing up,
my father had a very elegant & exclusive men's clothing store:
R. Meledandri Inc.
in this spot

the address was 74 E 56th ST
the building no longer exists
and the building that is in its place has its actual address on 55th street
the building goes through the block
and this is the back entrance

the store was a 2nd home for me
i loved seeing my father in his element
i used to go there after school if I was downtown shopping
but i had to be dressed a certain way:
i was representing the family brand

the store was a hangout on friday afternoons
and saturdays
for a creative sector of NY:
artist, writers, film makers, advertising guys...
