on the cusp
the creature with dried morning glory on top of #5 (of 50) from the “turmeric & lavender” series:
handmade paper combined with organic material and maybe shells,
maybe beach glass, perhaps scraps of watercolor on rice paper.
the paper pulp is made from flax, maybe mixed with cotton, maybe with recycled paper, or perhaps both.
blended into the pulp might be turmeric and/or lavender, maybe butterfly pea flowers,
perhaps petals from roses, morning glories or gladiolas, possibly even tea.
on the cusp
may we greet this new year
moving towards the light.
may we embrace this new year
with the faith
that we possess the tools and experience
needed to create a new awareness.
may we each find meaning, comfort and purpose
and trust our stars to guide us.
love & light
to you & yours
in this new year
“[We] all ... have the stars," he answered, "but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems. For my businessman they were wealth. But all these stars are silent. You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them - "
