going down Sugar Loaf, looking straight left .
we should be seeing Copacabana Beach and other beaches,all outside the bay;
to the right is downtown Rio, downtown Niterói, etc etc, all inside the bay ( Guanabara Bay );
the upper link is a little piece of the sight inside the bay ( better with no fog or mist ).

in this picture we can see ( with some effort ) Corcovado ( the big Christ statue blessing the city )
also, farther away, we can see Pedra da Gávea ( flat topped mountain ).

geography here is special, with mountains close to the sea making the city looks such a beauty and very easy to orientate ;
difficult to get lost here ( we can see the mountains and smell the sea )
