Bens Tombados...
last year i was acompanying friends who were filming old sites which dated from colonial times ( in Brazil ) ; one of them wasn't that antique but still supposed to be a "saved / protected property" , an old orange farm in a once rich area around the 1750 Rio de Janeiro ;
i don't remember the farm name at the moment, but it is located in Iguaçu Velha ( the old part of Iguaçu Prefecture ) . the farm was totally ruinous, but 30 years back it was in a perfect state .
this was the very first vew ot the place ; i entitled the picture intending to make a pun, but i really don't know if i got it right ; in Portuguese ' bens ' mean also " properties ";
" tombado " has a homonym, so, here it has a double meaning : it could mean " tumbled" and also " protected by law " ;
so : properties protected by law ( for historical memory )
or : tumbled properties
arf arf !!
think in Portuguese it is a fantastic double meaning expression
