amaryllis ?
there's a bulb_flower here in Brasil which name is amarilis, just like this one ; they can have lots of different colours and at each time they come out of earth to bloom, the number of flowers are increased ; as if they get more and more flowers as a mature process , quite amazing.

still cold around there, hmmm ?
