hmmmmmmmmmmm
3/26
i thought i would be able to rest today
but i had forgotten that even if something is 90% done
that last 10% can take a really long time
i had to finish my snail mailing and it took about 5 hours
then, since it was saturday and it should have gone out thursday,
i rode up to the general post office (24hr) to mail them
it's a bit of a relief to know that part is completed
but i don't think it did wonders for my health
i can't swallow at all now
(did i mention that it wasn't JUST producing a 650 piece mailing...
that because the gallery's invitation TRULY sucked, i had to produce my own insert piece for the people that really matter...
and because their press release was so piss poor i had to write my own...
do you get the feeling that come next week, when the show is hung, i am going to be less than satisfied, just like 2 years ago when they didn't hang the painting that was most important to me...
do i sound a little upset...
do you think someone might have called me to say that:
the work arrived safely?
it looks good?
or thank me for providing a checklist complete with color photos identifying each image and an electronic version to make their life easier?
it's just that from a world class gallery, one expects a little more, the problem is that no one there knows what over time is, they are all stuck in the 20th century, no actually the 19th with a lot of the work that they sell
sorry, but i need to get this out of my system now,
so i can be a delight next week
because you know what they say:
"you get more flies with honey"
who the fuck wants flies anyway?)
