there were 2 paintings from the "another door" series
that weren't finished for the show.
again, like the "villa of mystery" series,
there are 10 in total,
but of the 8 i sent up for the show, only 4 were hung anyway.
(and not the best 4, imho)

so, i have been working on these last 2 for the past week,
they are sort of the beginning and ending pieces
and even though i probably won't complete them by the time the show closes
(the return of the house guest syndrome),
i felt the need to have them well under way.


i took this picture this afternoon and curiously enough, the lensday challenge this week is self portrait

and, i was thinking, while posting, about this theme;
part of my senior show in college was 6 months of handmade journals in which i mounted a self portrait and wrote every day.
now, almost 30 years later, i am keeping 2 parrallel on-line photo journals, though i only occasionally post a self portrait.
however, yesterday, i did as well and i was somewhat toying with the idea of continuing in this vein
