and 10 seconds later
the light is about to change
and a car jumps it
and i am as close as i ever have been
to getting totally nailed.

i had taken the first snap in the midlle of the street,
and then had gone back to the sidewalk
when i decided to take another
it never occured to me to look at the lights, the traffic, anything
i just walked back out
and 3 seconds later there was a woosh
and i can still feel it


and i have to acknowledge that some part of the way that i am living is terribly wrong
and i have to take responsibility for that
and i don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater
