on one hand i am feeling inundated with unnecessary gadgets...
right before i left,
in a the midst of a holiday shopping frenzy
i seem to have purchased a skype phone and a bluetooth headset...

now i have more chargers,
am using more usb ports,
have more things to register,
and rebates to file for,
and instruction manuals with print too small to read
and for WHAT????

i am ready to chuck it all

but i also now have a laptop
(sometimes it totally pays to have a job in computers)
and this is important for me
it means i can be connected while i am at the house
(thank you to everyone in the 'hood who doesn't password protect their wifi)

about 3 years ago,
being on-line became intertwined with my studio process;
to not have that option at the house
was yet one more obstacle to creating a space that felt like my own
