"be careful what you ask for"
they say

when you get what you thought was missing
and it turns out to be a slap in the face
well
it just makes you stop and wonder...

when every corner you turn
every hurdle you leap
each problem you resolve
just points you towards a greater challenge,
it's hard not to wonder

and i don't believe in negative
and i really try to find the bright spots
but this has been so uphill
for so long
it just makes me wonder...

even as i know i'll find that lesson
somewhere
somehow
it still makes me wonder
