i tried a new route today,
using the williamsburg bridge as opposed to the manhattan
in some ways i liked it better.

it is a bit of a steeper incline getting on it
but i avoid having to go through downtown brooklyn
which is a mess
and the bridge itself is nicer:
the bike way is much wider
you get to see a (official highway dept) sign that says
"leaving brooklyn
oy vey"
and it has better graffiti

it's kind of a cross between the other two:
not as relaxed (or touristy) as the brooklyn bridge
(which is more like a promenade)
but more human than the manhattan bridge
(which is more like a side road to a highway)

if i could ride straight out flatbush,
the route to the manhattan bridge would definitely be shorter
but it's a main thoroughfare
and even i know that it's way too dangerous for biking

coming home at night however
if it's dark
i am not sure it's the right route
i think it would be a little "iffy"
