as exciting as this is
there comes a little rub
the roof goes on and it all of a sudden seems smaller
more contained
and it will get even more so
once the ceiling is in
and the floor is poured

and it gets darker
those holes are for skylights
and that helps
but there is no way around the fact
that this is built on the darkest part of the property

it was the only way i could get a studio
with access to the garden
i was originally going to take the top floor
and be flooded with sun
but i really felt i needed to be on the ground

this little moment of discomfort will pass
but it brings up the months of difficulty in making the decision to go this route in the first place
