sweet you...how often others recognize in us what we don't in ourselves...

oh...and i remember one beautiful october evening in 1969, walking out of a party because i had a big crush on the hostess, who was drop-dead gorgeous...and married, and it was just getting a little too frustrating, "let it bleed" had just come out, and "you can't always get what you want" was playing as i slipped out the door and down the stairs. i stood on the sidewalk in the cool air, listening to the song, and as that angelic chorus mounted at the end i felt like the luckiest man on earth, who indeed had what he needed.
