i have always loved roadside memorials
these are particularly poignant for me

and this one...
it's on the bike lane by the hudson river
there are very few cars crossing the path
i always feel completely safe when i am on it
but that seems to be an illusion

i took a spill the other day
totally my fault
i was coming off the b-burg bridge
which i hadn't taken for a while
and i forgot about a curb
i tried to brake
but i was going too fast
and my heavy lock was in the front basket
so i flipped

i guess this is all about trying to remember to be careful
especially since it is my m.o. to have bike accidents
when i am too stressed

the sign on this one reads:
Carl Nacht

Killed By Truck
