the cleaning required tons of rinsing to remove the sand
and
the other types of seaweed
and
these little black dots
which
i believe were tiny mussels

this is the debris after multiple rinsings

next: cook it down with soda ash
except
that i have read
this is a really stinky process
which should not be done in the house...
i don't have a portable stove with me
so i have to resort to soaking in boiling water
with the soda ash in it
it's a very soft seaweed;
hopefully that will break it down enough to beat into a pulp
