back at school...looks like home

it was an extremely long day
which started before 9 in an attempt to get to the school on time
which because of an emergency subway situation
involved unexpected train transfers
and a citibike ride
it was mimicking the story of my life:
late to school

there was a tour of the school
to see the improvements that had been made
(including a very fancy, brand new building)
a meeting with the head of the school
(a disguised fund raising pitch)
and a luncheon of all the reunion classes
which was in our honor

then a long walk with a friend to her hotel
and then another long walk to another friend's house
who was having a dinner for us
and then back home
about 14 hours later...

oh my........that was a really long day but i know it was worth it..............i love to be taught............i am sure you do too..............

and that is why we love schools..........the most interesting part of my recent visit to budapest was to be at school......being shown around it............learn how it was organized..............

i cannot imagene what it must feel like to go back to your original school and meet your old school mates................

my infant school was demolished a few years ago...........fortunately i sneaked into it and toof a nice batch of pictures before that happened...............

my primary school was turned into a marine museum a lot of years ago..............

my secondary school was turned into an adult school and then it closed down and the building remains abandoned.............
