there is a huge public school here in my neighbourhood which has a japanese pond too..........there are koi as well..........now the school area is fenced and you cannot visit it unless you have got kids studying there.......

as a kid, this fence did not exist and once in a while i used to go there with my kid friends to see the koi swimming in the pond......the fact that there was a pond with koi was so unusual in the 70s in spain.........the first time i saw koi was there and i was totally stunned and kind of shocked by their striking colours......

there were swarms of toad around the pond too............and sometimes we were lucky enough to trap a toad and take it home................
