i hate anthropomorphizing my work but this part of the process is as close to labor (as if i would know) as anything i've experienced: months of nurturing and growth have culminated in an experience as excrutiating and as endless as anything i have ever endured.

but... just maybe, there is an angel watching over me. today i had a tiny inkling that the surface i had so completely lost is beginning to come back in a way that does not appear to look to be too overworked. the problem is, it is still not finished and i am scared sh*tless to touch it again.
