this will all probably sound a little silly
but this trip to see my mom
was the first time i had ever driven
my very own car
all by myself

and it was a bit scary at first
primarily because it has a standard transmission
and for the past 25+ years
i've only driven automatics

and
i was going on unfamiliar roads
in heavy traffic

and
i had a 4 hour drive

and
as is clear from the fact that i will take pictures while driving under such conditions;
i don't always have the best judgement as a driver

but i made it
and i had fun
and i feel much stronger for having done it
