my mom has moved to an incredibly beautiful place
(not that where she was before wasn't)
this is what she sees from her driveway
this is the pond that her living room window faces
it's due west
so she has the most beautiful sunsets reflected in the water

the great, ill-considered, and painfully complicated love of my 20-year-old life lived with another man (while still married to another!) who taught at bard college. rhinebeck was where we used to tryst.
