painted...flower
2/23
i don't have much patience for painting flowers anymore
i get so frustrated by not being able to capture
the precision of their beauty
it's only when i let myself go
and simpley respond to the color
that i find i can relate to what i've done
these bearded iris allow me to do this
from the time they are just buds
to when they are full blown blooms
to when they start shriveling, drying and dropping
in soggy wet puddles
there is something about the profusion of color
& the complexity of their forms
that so defies my ability to render something exact
that i don't even try
