my mom,
quite unexpectedly,
is having surgery tomorrow

it is elective
it is to try to clean up whatever cancer is visible
after the chemo

she gave me this little information sheet
on stinging insects
and when a bee flew into my studio
i captured it under a plastic glass
and used the sheet
to transfer it outside

it was
so
so
angry
and buzzing
so
so
loud

i am not sure what that has to do with the price of eggs
but it seems to make sense in the moment
as in
nothing is what it seems to be
and
it's best to be prepared for whatever comes next
