borough of love outake…1
9/20
after 20+ years of living in the country
my mother moved back to NYC in March 2014.
she moved to brooklyn,
to be near me
after being diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer.
on many levels it was a difficult move,
not the least of which was the very sudden uprooting
and resulting relocation to an area she barely knew.
thankfully, she adjusted quite quickly
by finding things that made brooklyn seem so special to her.
one of these things is the abundance of couples
walking hand in hand
and she quickly dubbed brooklyn: "the borough of love".
