i have been working these paintings
from background to foreground
and
forground to background
for weeks now
i feel i have lost a sponteneity,
that they are now just becoming a concept
i suppose the next step is to
re-infuse them with life
i suppose they are a metaphor
for that struggle:
having a sense of purpose
without stifling the unknowable
