r.e. portugalete bridge is in portugalete, a district in the outskirts of bilbao................the area has nothing special but the bridge..............which was constructed in the late 19th century to join the two sides of the river.............it was built so high so as not to block the free circulation of high sailboats..............the hanging cabin was added years after its contruction and it can hold people, bikes, motorbikes and cars...........there is also a walkbridge at the top........................
