r.e. the students were striking against the current law of education..........again..............but the government, one more time, refuses to listen to them.......or to us, the teachers...........

besides.......they were also striking about a new bill...............which intends to finance private non-compulsory secondary studies..............

so far these studies (for 16-17-18-year-old students) were or public...........or private..........and -by law- they could not be financed with public money (coming from taxes)...........consequently most students signed up for public schools since private ones are rather expensive.............

from now on...........if the bill is passed (which will probably happen since this government tuns a deaf ear to any proposal or suggestion coming from the citizens of this country) any private school will be entitled to be financed with public funds....and this means catholic schools.........schools in which students are segregated by gender...........schools which do not accept immigrant students (believe or not, private schools have the right to do this)..............

these are the two reasons for last thursday strike.........which can be summarised in the fact that the educational scenario is getting really creepy............

pessimistically, i would say that the world scenario is getting really creepy....................
