i have always kept journals
ever since i was a little girl
and
i have always loved artist's journals
chock full of writings and doodles
drawings and collage materials
and
i have always thought my journals
would be like theirs;
the ones i saw published,
the ones i saw in person
but
mine never did
for a while they consisted of page after page
of writing
and then
they became
page after page
of watercolors
today
they became a document

it's amazing how long things take
some
times
