for the past few years
i have had very meagre tomato plants
on the deck
which bear very little fruit

this year
my plants grew big and strong
with stems like little trunks
and i have been very hopeful

and then
all of a sudden
the leaves began to wilt
branches broke
they look horrible

there are green tomatoes
and i am trying to ripen some of them
off the vine

on this plant
the bottoms of all the tomatoes
have a brown rot...
