the farm we stayed at raises chickens and ducks for eggs
and chickens and pigs for eating

when we went to the farm's store to get breakfast supplies
i asked if we could see the pigs
we were told we were 10 days too late
:(
and i realized that i was probably looking at them right then
as i was holding a package of bacon

when i went for a walk and came across this pen
i felt a palpable emptiness
