i went into the city today
and saw evidence of the destruction downtown,
the looting on lower broadway & soho
was pretty severe.

just as the city was starting to come back to life,
with more stores opening,
preparing to enter phase I of the reopening,
it is now even quieter than before
with gated windows replaced by the blankness
of plywood boards

it's very sad to witness
not as sad as the injustice in this country
but very sad none the less
