today was magical
the winds were very high;
gusting to 30 mph
i went down to the beach in the morning
it was close to high tide
at first it seemed that the tide was simply coming up as usual
but as i walked to the edge of the sand
i encountered a four foot drop
that the ocean had carved out of the beach
overnight
and this ledge continued
as far as the eye could see
both up and down the beach
