this is a sad story
we had a very heavy rain about a month ago,
i knew it had leaked into the studio
and i thought i had cleaned up the mess

i have a stack of plastic drawers
on my desk
under where the leak was
i had checked the top drawer;
no water damage
but then,
when i went to get my passport out of the bottom drawer
i discovered that some how,
the water had bypassed the top drawer and had gotten into the bottom

in addition to my passport, it is the drawer where i keep old sunglasses and a collection of pouches and little bags that i use to organize things

basically anything that was material was ruined
and anything that was leather was completely molded.
thankfully i have a silicon passport case
and my passport was fine
if it had been leather,
the passport would probably have been damaged
and i most likely would not have been able to replace it in time to make my plane on tuesday
(monday is a holiday here)

i have had those leather pouches since i was a child
and that black wallet/bag had some sentimental value as well


just writing about this
gives me a headache
(i have amold allergy)
