This is a picture of pahoehoe lava about to bust open on the topside.
The actual span is about six feet or two metres.
On these closer shots I nearly burnt my camera. In fact I thought I had when after this shot I could not even touch the housing or lens from the heat they had absorbed. I used a fill-in flash to highlight the silver iridescence of the cooler top edges.
