there's a new nanny at nanny central
| i have been very productive ever since school ended. i started something that was supposed to be finished a few months ago, made some photo collages for mai (how fun was that? huh? huh? pretty fun!), and added commentary parentheses to a lot of things (and watched some movie commentary... oh, wait, that was last week). i have never been so productive (wait, i remember saying that exact sequence of words once before). i am overwhelmed and my stomach hurts! well, that's just because of the pearl tea... which was delicious... but allergic-reaction-causing... oh, tapioca, why must you hurt me so? on sunday i went to a finnish christmas party, which was my first finnish-related anything, as well as my first christmas party. i forgot to bring my camera (can you believe it?!). tuula made rice pudding and the steam that flowed from it in front of the cute elf window decals and electric candles would have made a lovely picture. the party was fun, i guess. papa was there, and he actually behaved very well. if i weren't so biased, i would give him an A+ on social skills at the party instead of an A-. i think the best part of the night was when diana and vance burst through the front door, both wearing long black coats and cowboy hats. it was pouring outside so the water on diana's coat made her very sparkly. she had bright pink and white rain boots on under her coat, whereas vance had actual cowboy boots on. when she took her coat off, a giant spoon suddenly appeared in her hand. i'm pretty sure she was keeping it in her belt. she had her characteristic nice-occasion purple shirt on, and her black stockings were tucked into her old wool socks. sillies. after the party i tried to take an hour long nap, but ended up sleeping for 14 consecutive hours. in the morning i dreamt that mama made pancakes incorrectly. today i shopped for a warm puffy jacket and found many disgusting ones (metallic? fake fur? misplaced pockets and pockets with seams but no openings?) in many different stores. after a few hours i almost gave up hope, but then walked into one store just because it looked like it sold really ridiculously dumb clothes. see mama model and try to get out of one of the scraps from that store. that store was hecka shady, yo, but it did have some nice things. i bought one hecka cheap and hecka warm jacket with a malfunctioning zipper, but it has buttons for back-up. it's my first warm item of clothing (not counting mittens). then i went to marina food and was persuaded to buy very comfortable dog and cat slippers because they were 2 for $15. then i gave littleguy and pookie catnip. what a productive sunday and monday! i found the almond in the rice pudding. does this mean we are going to get married now? P.S. a couple gallons of water leaked out of the wall next to my bed. the problem was solved by diverting the water away from my room with a sheet that hangs over the edge of the roof, and by me moving over to the collapsed bed. that is the permanent solution. this household has got its stuff together. |
