On the way up to Kiyomizudera temple we passed through a long street of fun-looking gift shops, ice cream stores, AND mochi + odango shops. There were free samples of mochi, and one was melon flavored. mmm (the flat kind). Why is everything I eat melon flavored? I was so determined to visit all those shops after walking around the temple... oh, my brain has been infected with the materialism.
